The President of the Assembly of the Islamic Community in Croatia, Salkan ef. Herić, who is also the Head Imam of the Islamic Community Council of Dubrovnik, today visited the Center for Halal Quality Certification, where a working meeting was held with the head of the Center, Mr. Muhamed Mandžić, on the topic of current activities, further development, and strategic work plans of this institution.
During the meeting, the President of the Assembly expressed satisfaction with the visible progress and development of the Center for Halal Quality Certification, emphasizing that the Center continuously confirms its important role in strengthening consumer trust, developing the halal market, and the international positioning of the Islamic Community in Croatia.
It was particularly emphasized that the Assembly of the Islamic Community, as the highest representative and legislative body of the Islamic Community in Croatia, gives full support to the further development of the Center and the continuation of its activities, recognizing its institutional and strategic significance for the Islamic Community, as well as for the broader social and economic community.
The visit to the Center took place on the symbolic date of April 27th, which marks 110 years since the official recognition of Islam in the Republic of Croatia. This date carries additional symbolism for the Center for Halal Quality Certification itself, which was founded on April 27th, thus giving today's meeting a special historical significance.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the Business Forum 2026, which will be held from November 11th to 13th this year in Dubrovnik. The head of the Center, Mr. Muhamed Mandžić, informed the President of the Assembly about the activities carried out so far during organizational preparations, as well as the planned content and implementation dynamics of the event itself.
In addition to the head of the Center, the meeting was also attended by the head of the Certification Department, Nedim ef. Omerović.
Today's meeting once again confirmed the importance of institutional support for the further development of the Center for Halal Quality Certification, as well as its increasingly significant role in promoting halal standards, strengthening the economy, and representing the Islamic Community in Croatia at both the domestic and international levels.
